It is said that the practices followed by Dolce and Gabbana are not good for the environment, and they do not maintain corporate transparency in terms of revealing their supply chain or the place from where they source their leather products. They do not even attempt to stop all practices that might turn out to be lethal for the environment.

Dolce & Gabbana achieved the E-label on the website rank a brand. This is the lowest sustainability score, and D&G have earned it by not communicating anything certain about the policies for environment, carbon emissions or labour conditions in low waged countries. It is unclear to see wether D&G are committed to sustainability but due to them not giving information out it shows they have something to hide.

But this is the disappointing part: D&G maintains very little corporate transparency in terms of revealing their supply chain or sources of their leather products. In 2015, they were even singled out as one of the worst luxury fashion brands by Greenpeace in their Detox campaign for failing to identify hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing and set priorities for elimination with timelines.

"It is not about making sustainability stylish, it is about making stylish sustainable."
