Dolce & Gabbana poster on Ethics

Image
Above is the poster I created on Dolce & Gabbana and wether there ethics on this situation were in the right place. My poster is about how Dolce & Gabbana created a collection of abaya's and headscarves but left the women wearing them unsatisfied. The research I got to back this up is on my previous post.  I used a floral background to represent D&G, and then a white border to separate D&G from the streets of Asia. I put the streets on top of Dolce & Gabbana and made it slightly transparent to show the two trying to come together, but unsuccessfully. I then added a model from the D&G campaign ad for the collection. I feel like my poster shows that she fits in more with the floral back ground than the streets of Asia. The point I wanted to get across was that this collection, was felt by many Muslim's that it wasn't made for everybody of that religion, showing it to be 'too dressy'. Another point was that it wasn't anything special, y...

Labels now create Ramadan collections, as the religious celebration gains recognition as a time of increased retail activity for Muslim consumers. D&G seems to recognise Muslim fashion...

Module Brief

Fashion marketing is concerned with understanding the complex needs and wants of fashion consumers, whilst orienting both strategic and operational business activities to satisfy those demands. Fashion marketing’s particular complexity as a business philosophy arises from the diversity of fashion-related nuances, coupled with the fast-moving pace of fashion product life-cycles, all of which shape consumer needs. The fashion industry has experienced dramatic shifts in the last decade , from globalisation to the evolution of technology and social media , which have all democratised the media landscape and changed the way customers consume and engage with brands, products and both digital and printed media. Therefore, you must have a strong understanding of the marketplace in order to drive, reach and stimulate both awareness and demand for fashion.  In recent years, the high street has struggled to keep up with sales from online retailers , and have began to re-market and re-st...
